A charity providing support and guidance, with a base in the Oxford Road, Reading is our next nomination in the Charity of the Year category, sponsored by Roc Search.
Change Grow Live provide a drug and alcohol service in the Reading area. The service is made up of three teams, providing the core service helping those struggling with addiction and promoting recovery, and harm reduction.
They have an outreach team providing support to all those that are street homeless, ensuring they get the medical and emotional support they need and signposting people to various partner agencies.
Lastly, the criminal justice team help those leaving prison on the road to recovery and giving them chance to change their lives.
Their nominator said: “They really are unsung heroes in Reading and have a fantastic team that provide support and advice to all those struggling with addiction. They are helping vulnerable people daily on the road to recovery and, through their hard work and dedication, are breaking the stigma and barriers around it.”
The teams at Change Grow Live provide support and guidance to anyone who wants it and have a range of support options, including detox services, health assessments, needle exchange and peer-led activities.
A recent user of the service said: “The service has supported me 100 per cent and has always reinforced the positives. Thank you for being there for me.”
