Rebecca Streeter is our next nominee for Volunteer of the Year, sponsored by A. B. Walker.

Rebecca works tirelessly to support her local community in Burghfield and has implemented many projects locally and across Berkshire.

One such initiative is the setting up of the Royal Berkshire Hospital Wash Bag scheme, Rebecca fills the handmade wash bags with donated items and they are given to patients who have been admitted to hospital unexpectedly. Rebecca requests items via her Facebook page and at present is asking for travel size toiletries not used on summer holiday trips.

Other initiatives include recycling bras to be sent to Africa, organising charity coffee mornings in her local village, she is also very supportive of other volunteers in her community

Her nominator wrote. “Rebecca has implemented many schemes in Berkshire she started emergency hospital bags which contains many things that someone being admitted to hospital in an emergency . She implemented a bra bank that she regularly sends bras to Africa and also is collecting socks and pants for children in need - she is a very inspirational woman.”
