Nominated for Employee of the Year sponsored by Reading Buses
A staff member put forward for Employee of the Year has been dubbed 'one of a kind'. Steve Woods' nominator said:
“Despite working for Aker Solutions for well over 20 years, Steve remains steadfast in his desire to improve the company – both operationally and in terms of how the company treats its employees and the local community.”
Steve has 'single-handedly' led the firm's engagement with schools and colleges in Reading, an initiative he has driven without specific direction, said his nominator.This includes implementing and leading a manufacturing apprenticeship scheme, hosting routine work experience placements, conducting presentations at local schools and organising school visits to the company.
“This passion for helping people spreads to our own employees too,” said his nominator. “ Steve serves as both a UK employee representative and a member of the Global Works Council, roles he takes seriously to ensure that the voice of the employees is heard at the most senior levels of our global organisation.”
They added: “It would be an honour to see Steve receive some well-deserved external recognition for his years of relentless effort – and there is no doubt in my mind that Steve is a stand-out nominee from Aker. Steve Woods is one of a kind.”
